KAYLA’S Story
Kayla was born in Columbus, GA and grew up in Fayetteville before moving to Mississippi at seven years old. Kayla graduated from Cleveland High School (where she met this one dork) and went on to obtain her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design at Delta State University.
After, she relocated to Memphis to study studio art and bookmaking at Memphis College of Art, receiving her Master of Fine Arts degree in 2016.
Kayla currently teaches Graphic Design at Delta State University and enjoys long term social distancing from her lovely, screened-in porch.
JEREMIAH’S Story
Raised in San Angelo, TX, Jeremiah moved to Cleveland, MS with his dad, Freddie, and stepmom, Kay, when he was 16 years old (where he met one especially cute girl).
After graduating high school, Jeremiah went to Delta State University to study music and graphic design. After graduating, he moved to Memphis, TN, to pursue (and obtain!) a Master’s Degree in Graphic Design from the University of Memphis and continue to play music and be generally cool as hell. He currently works as the graphic designer for Crosstown Arts and performs with his band, The Ellie Badge, in Memphis.
Our Relationship
Kayla and Jeremiah have been making fun of each other since high school. This continued through college as they continued to poke at each other from a safe distance. Then, shortly after graduating together in 2013, they finally began dating and now, seven years later, are getting married! Over the last seven years Jeremiah has discovered that Kayla never puts anything back where she found it, while Kayla realized that all of the little fidgety noises Jeremiah makes drive her coo-coo bananas. On top of everything, though, they like each other more than everyone else and wouldn’t want to change a thing. They live in Memphis, Tennessee with their sweet lil’ baby kitty cats —Tokyo Lunchbox and Juniper Crimes.
In an effort to never take anything too seriously, they will be getting married on Halloween in an effort to encourage the same fun and ridiculousness they try to continuously share with each other every day in their life together (and also because it’s gonna be spooky and fun).
